Thank you so much to everyone who came out to celebrate the 2756 Karen New Year on December 31 at Washington Technology Magnet School! Over 1,000 Karen community members and American neighbors united on this special day to celebrate the beginning of a new year. The event featured vivid representation of traditional Karen culture through clothing, dance, song, food, and other significant parts of Karen culture. Attendees were also joined by special guests from Growth Music Band from Burma who performed a concert the evening before the event. Many smiles were shared and new friendships were formed throughout the day.
