KOM Tables at North End Multicultural Fair

This past Saturday, March 2nd, KOM had the opportunity to table at the North End Multicultural Fair! The event, sponsored by the North End Community Foundation and Washington Technology Magnet School, ran from 4pm-7pm and highlighted the various cultures that make up St. Paul’s North End.

KOM tabled throughout the event, sharing information about KOM and the services we provide, as well as sharing information about Karen culture and the Karen community in Minnesota. We shared some Karen Tea Salad (La Pat Thot), which proved popular among fairgoers, and also signed people up for the learning opportunities offered by KOM, such as our Re-CNA, weaving, and soldering classes.

The fair also included dance performances from the various community groups in attendance. We were especially happy to see a Karenni folk dance performance!

We would like to thank not only the North End Community Foundation and Washington Technology Magnet School for sponsoring this event, but also North End Business Association, North End Neighborhood Organization/District 6 Planning Council, and the many other event supporters for giving us this opportunity to share more about Karen culture! Ta blut doh ma!
