Rebekah Hanson, Career Development Counselor
Rebekah Hanson began working at the Karen Organization of Minnesota in August 2018 as a Career Development Counselor with the Apprentice Ready and Manufacturing Pathways. Previously, she served at KOM as the Community Engagement Specialist through the AmeriCorps VISTA program from 2015-2017. Between her employment periods at KOM, she worked in the Education Program at MORE providing support services for adult immigrants and refugees enrolled in ESL classes. She also worked at PCs for People for a short time helping low-income individuals obtain computers and low-cost Internet. Rebekah was born and raised in the Twin Cities and graduated from North Central University in 2015 with a B.A. in communications and a minor in international development. Rebekah is thrilled to be back at KOM, because she is passionate about empowering refugees from Burma gain the resources and skills they need to reach their goals and become independent.
