Program Manager

Job Title: Program Manager (Career Pathways and Financial Education)

Status: Full time with benefits

Salary: $52,000 – $58,000 annual salary

Scheduling: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM, with some flexibility to attend evening/weekend events

Reports to: Program Director

Position Summary:

The Karen Organization of Minnesota seeks a highly organized Program Manager with enthusiasm for relationship building across diverse groups of people to provide effective leadership and support to program staff. This position will help support KOM’s fast growing youth and adult career pathways and financial opportunity programs designed to meet the unique needs of immigrants and refugees from around the world who have made Minnesota their home.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and support implementation plans for career pathways and financial literacy training programs
  • Provide orientation, training, and day-to-day supervision to the Career Pathways and Financial Opportunity team to support program success and employees’ professional growth
  • Facilitate team meetings and monthly one-on-one coaching sessions with staff
  • Monitor progress towards program goals across multiple contracts and training programs, recommending changes and improvements as needed
  • Work with the Database Administrator and utilize reporting tools across multiple databases (Apricot, Salesforce, Workforce One) to monitor program services documentation and policy compliance
  • Coordinate across KOM staff and programs to ensure participants are receiving holistic, streamlined services
  • Advise on and actively support staff to resolve challenging cases
  • Approve staff timecards, time off requests, and reimbursement requests
  • Conduct community outreach efforts with educational, social service, and community organizations that enhance wraparound services to participants and generate referrals to KOM programs
  • Collaborate with community, nonprofit, training, and government partners by attending and facilitating regular meetings and workshops

 

Required Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Meet ONE of the following combinations of education and experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND 2 years of relevant experience OR
    • Associates Degree AND 4 years of relevant experience OR
    • High school diploma, Adult Diploma, or GED from an American or International education institution AND 6 years of relevant experience
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience with DEED funded programs

 

Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, & Behavior):

  • High level of competency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and database applications
  • Strong organizational management skills with the ability to set and achieve program outcomes, coach staff, develop high-performing teams and able to hold individuals accountable in meeting key performance indicators
  • Strong knowledge of workforce development resources, community-based organizations & social services agencies in Minnesota
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in database monitoring to document program outcomes

 

Beneficial Knowledge or Experience:

  • Experience using Workforce One, Apricot, Salesforce a plus
  • Experience with financial literacy education and/or coaching highly desired
  • Knowledgeable about workforce and industry trends in Minnesota
  • Demonstrated knowledge about the culture of different refugee groups from Burma. Qualified Karen, Karenni, and/or Burmese-speaking candidates or individuals from a refugee background are highly encouraged to apply
