Kari Egerstrom Collins grew up in Maplewood, Minnesota and currently serves as Ramsey County’s Director of Community & Economic Development. She oversees community and economic development projects and programs intended to catalyze competitiveness for the Ramsey County economy. In her capacity as Director, Kari manages the Community & Economic Development Department (CED) and is responsible for the management and negotiation of transformational redevelopment projects such as Rice Creek Commons and Riversedge.
Prior to her role at Ramsey County, Kari served as Community Development Director for the City of Roseville, Minnesota. She worked directly with the KOM on a variety of initiatives intended to provide better services to residents in southeast Roseville. Prior to Roseville, she served as a City of Milwaukee Mayoral appointee leading the Milwaukee Board of Zoning Appeals Department as Zoning Administrator.
Kari holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Augsburg College and a master’s degree in Urban Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Kari joined the KOM Board to help continue the good work being done for our growing refugee population and find opportunities for future partnerships around critical needs such as housing and jobs.
