KOM opened an office in Marshall, MN to serve the growing community of Karen and other refugees in southwestern Minnesota. The office opened in October 2014 by the United Community Action Partnership. Over 600 people live in Marshall. The Marshall office provides social services, employment support, and training opportunities to these refugees. They have also built strong relationships with local employers, government, and schools to increase community knowledge about the Karen.

The Marshall office partners with the Literacy Volunteers of Southwest Minnesota to provide English lessons to refugees from Burma. Additionally, they hosts monthly meetings to teach Karen community members about healthcare, government, business, education, housing and finances. The office also began a Karen Leadership Cohort with 10 refugees who are being trained on how to be effective leaders. The cohort meets monthly and invites speakers in various leadership positions in Marshall.
